Cadets in Emergency Services
Yes! Cadets can be involved in Emergency Services. In fact Civil Air Patrol's roll, especially here in California Wing continues grow and adapt as more entities learn of CAPs unique abilities, no longer does ES mean exclusively continental U.S. Search and Rescue (SAR) of downed aircraft.
Now arguably, trying to get started in ES can seem daunting at first, but we're going to make this as simple and as painless as possible. Like anything there are steps to be followed, you've got walk before you can run, and hopefully the pages under this section can help to get you up and running in Emergency Services!
First thing that everyone has to complete, cadet and senior alike, is to General Emergency Services (GES) dome and get their 101 card. Your 101 card is your ticket to admission.
