Step 2 - Begin Training

Training

Once you have your 101 Card, now it's time to look at the training worksheets found in Specialty Qualification Training Records (SQTR) which you guessed it, is located in eServices! You will have to pull up training worksheets for each particular job, so let's say you want to be on ground team then you will need to locate the GTM 3 (which is the first level of GTM training) worksheet.

Fam & Prep

Once you have found the worksheet then carefully look over the tasks under "Familiarization and Preparatory Training" -- commonly referred to as "Fam & Prep", depending upon what training you are attending be it a SAREX, bivouac, mission aircrew school, or what have you, they may or may not want you to have the "fam & prep" done before you show up and sometimes the trainings objective is to get cadets their "fam & prep", check announcements carefully and plan accordingly. Note -- before you begin "fam & prep" you will need approval from your squadron commander.

Task Guide

Where are you going to find the details of what each of the "fam & prep" tasks entail? The Task Guide.

Let's look at "fam & prep" for UAST - UAS Technician, as an example. First item on the sheet under "Familiarization and Preparatory Training" states:

Complete Task O-5001 Demonstrate Aircraft & Ground Team Coordination

We then look in the Mission sUAS Task Guide, and listed neatly in the table of contents is all the tasks by number. Our task for this first item, "O-5001" is located on page 9 of the current guide book.

O-5001 Demonstrate Aircraft & Ground Team Coordination ...................................................................................... 9

Now it's just matter of studying up on it and being able to successfully demonstrate that knowledge to a SET.
