Joining a Cadet Squadron as an Adult.
Yes, we do allow adults, age eighteen and up to join as senior members of Squadron 153. In fact we even though we are "cadet lead" we certainly do need adult support! See Squadron Jobs for something specific, but sometimes it's just helpful having a second registered adult (check out the Cadet Sponsor Membership).
For adults there are two different categories of membership that are available in Civil Air Patrol.
Step 1
Contact the squadron and arrange to visit a meeting
Step 2
Attend a meeting and meet with squadron membership board.
Be prepared to explain why you want to join us (knowing that our primary mission as senior members is to support the cadets) and what it is you that would like to do in the squadron. A word of caution to parents of cadets: If you decide to become a senior member, I welcome you, but you are going to need to be able to turn off the "parent switch" while your a senior member (this includes email correspondence). While you are a senior member, your child is a cadet like everyone else, this means that both you and they follow the same customs and courtesies, respect, procedures, as everyone else. - Squadron Commander
Based upon the decision of the board proceed to step three.
Step 3
Complete the Membership Application and FD 258 Fingerprint Card (available at your squadron).
